Every girl wants thick and strong hair to be short or long. Some spend time in the salon to get the desired hair they want. But some don’t get time to spend hours in a salon, here we have a 4-week healthy hair challenge for them. So after taking this challenge you can have healthy hair in 4 weeks.

4 Weeks Healthy Hair Challenge

Healthy hair challenge criteria and goals:

  • More shiny and lustrous hair.
  • Moisturized enough and bouncing with life.
  • Stronger hair strands.
  • Considerably more volume and less hair fall.

Rules for healthy hair challenge for these 4 weeks:

  • Use wooden combs/brushes with wide bristles.
  • Drink 8 glasses of water daily.
  • Drink one fruit juice/tender coconut water/sugarcane juice every day.
  • Regularly trim your hair for better hair growth and feel positive about your hair.
  • Eat 2 pieces of dates every day for iron content. It can also have mixed dried fruits like raisins, almonds, walnuts, apricot, fig, etc in between breaks.
  • Do not comb wet hair.
  • Clean your comb regularly.
  • Exercise or do yoga regularly for 30 mins to remove stress.
  • Drink amla juice how much ever possible.
  • Try not to get into bad moods whatever may be the reasons.
  • Plait your hair at night before going to bed to avoid breakage.



Which is the Healthy Hair Challenge?

Healthy Hair Challenge: Week 1

Diy hair pack

What you need:

  • 1 tablespoon yogurt 
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

What you have to do: Whip yogurt, add 1 tsp. Lemon juice to make a paste and apply on scalp and hair shaft till the tips leave it for 20 mins and shampoo wash it. For best results, massage your hair with coconut oil before applying this hair mask.

Why this works: Lemon cleans the impurities on the scalp. Yogurt softens the hair. Massage with coconut oil helps in blood circulation.

How often should you use: This is to be done on any one day or week 1. It makes hair soft shiny moisturizer and bouncy but the effect lasts only for 2 days.

Caution: Skip the lemon juice if you do not have itchiness or dandruff. Too much lemon can cause premature greying. Too much use of yogurt makes hair oily. So it is recommended to use a pack just once a week.

Healthy Hair Challenge: Week 2

Diy coconut milk hair mask

What you need:

  • 2 tsp honey
  • 4 drops essential oil (lavender or rosemary oil)
  • 1/3 cup coconut milk

What you have to do: Mix all the ingredients. Apply hair oil on your hair after applying this mask. Leave it for 20 to 30 mins and shampoo wash it.

How often should you use: Once a week in the second week.

Why this works: Honey moisturizes the hair and coconut milk helps in hair growth.

Caution: This hair mask is best for dry hair. For more shiny and bouncy hair curd mask goes better.



Healthy Hair Challenge: Week 3

This time give protein treatment to hair for lively hair

What you need:

  • 1 egg 
  • Half cup of curd
  • 1tspn honey
  • 1tspn lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. Olive oil

What you have to do: Whip 1 whole egg with curd and mix all the ingredients. Apply this mask on to your hair and leave it for 30 to 40 mins. Then shampoo your hair.

How often should you use: Once a week.

Why this works: Egg is full of protein which gives shine and bouncy hair. Yogurt makes hair soft and moisturizes it.

Caution: this mask contains egg which leaves a foul smell hence should be cleaned properly.

Healthy Hair Challenge: Week 4

Trim your hair 

Now you are almost done, you will find hair healthier in terms of texture, healthy ends and shiny too. But you should do a few things quite religiously. Methi curd mask once in 15 days, drinking enough water to keep your body hydrated, yoga for 20 mins, massaging the hair with a combination of healthier oils is a must.

Use any one home remedy from below.

1. Methi curd Hair mask

What you need:

  • 2 tbsp Organic methi powder (easily available in the market)
  • 2 tbsp Curd

What you have to do: Mix both the ingredients to form a paste. Apply it on the scalp and hair strands till ends. Leave it for 30 mins and then wash it with shampoo. Apply conditioner if required.

How often should you use: Once in 15 days.

Why this works: Methi has properties that help reduce hair fall, give shiny and bouncy hair. Curd softens the hair.

Caution: Too much curd can make hair oily. If possible, use hung curd or yogurt.

2. Avocado hair mask for dry hair

What you need:

  • 1 ripe avocado 
  • 2 tbsp. Honey 
  • 2 tablespoon virgin olive oil
  • 4 drops lavender or Rosemary oil

What you have to do: Mix all ingredients in a blender and blend it to form a paste. Apply this paste onto your hair from roots to ends keep it for 30 to 45 mins and shampoo wash it.

How often should you use: Once a week for the best results.

Why this works: Avocado has oils that are beneficial for hair. This mask softens the hair give it a shiny and bouncy look

Caution: apply this on dry hair as it contains olive oil no need to massaging the hair with other oils. Shampoo wash is necessary to remove all the excess mask.



3. Hibiscus hair mask

What you need:

  • handful hibiscus 
  • 1 bowl unsweetened curd

What you have to do: Mix both ingredients in a blender and blend it to form a paste. Apply this paste onto your hair from roots till the end. Keep it for 30 to 40 mins and shampoo wash it.

How often should you use: Twice a month

Why this works: Hibiscus boosts hair growth and makes it smooth and bouncy. Curd adds shine to it.

Caution: While treating you with any hair mask see to it that you take the right proportion of ingredients. As all the ingredients have their benefits and should be used correctly.
